Today begins five days on the affection of respect.
Our husbands have been made by God to be different than we are. (News flash!) They don’t think the same way we do, express themselves, approach problems, or need love verbalized in the same ways that we prefer. Without question, this affection is the most powerful affection you can communicate to your husband with words.
Your man wants to be held in esteem and to be shown consideration and appreciation—even when he makes mistakes. He wants to be seen as a hero, especially in the eyes of his bride. He needs someone to believe in him when the odds are stacked against him. Not only does he need your respect, God has commanded that you give it to him!
Today’s Vow: To speak gracious words to my husband that will be tenderness to his very soul.
“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” Proverbs 16:24 ESV
If a nagging wife is like a constant dripping, I will guard my tongue today from negative badgering, and instead choose to be content and speak words that compliment my husband. This is RESPECT.
